Our friend and producer Byrd invited us to his home in the Catskills for weekend jam, some recording, and a fabulous time in general. Most gracious. It was refreshing to play and not have your eyes -and mind- on the clock either because your studio time is running out, or because your neighbors will call the cops.
After a 4 hour drive we all met at the house, moved the furniture out, and set up Nikkie’s drum set for recording Saturday morning. Once they were done, she just kept playing, as fervently as a kid let loose in a candy store – with a grin to match. That was enough. It was our cue. Out come the amps, the guitars, and some melodies. Everyone jumped in at one point or other, making music for the animals in Byrd’s back yard.
Jonathan shot this on – I believe – his iPhone. Then I got dreamy and had fun editing the footage on iMovie.
Here is Hanna, Nikkie and I getting our mood on.
